Most people want to be healthier or at least they feel like they could do more to look after their bodies, whether it’s eating better or exercising more or reducing stress. But making big changes can be hard – and do you really need to cut out cake completely to lose those couple of extra pounds? I mean, it’s cake. Cake. We love cake.
But we’re big believers that making little changes can make a big difference – you don’t need to turn your life on its head to live a better life. So, we’ve put together a little list of simple tips to help you make your life a little healthier without any disruption.
Be More Active
This one is surprisingly easier than you might expect; you don’t have to suddenly commit to hitting the gym 3-5 times a week. Instead you just have to make a couple of small changes.
Take the stairs instead of the lift, walk to the shops instead of taking the car or having it delivered, dance around your living room for 10 minutes to your favourite song or run outside and play Pokemon Go.
You don’t have to go hard straight away, you can just ease into things by being a little bit more active in your day to day life and your body will thank you.
Make A Small Snack Switch
Again, your diet doesn’t necessarily need a complete overhaul. A few simple changes can be super-helpful without much effort.
Try switching out one can of soft drink or a cup of coffee for a glass of water. Instead of a chocolate bar on your way to work, maybe grab a cereal bar or bag of dried fruit or nuts. Or, if you are addicted to chocolate, swap the milk choc for dark chocolate to cut down on the amount of sugar you’re eating – your teeth and the rest of your body will be grateful.
Don’t Go It Alone
I always find that if I’m trying to make a change in my life getting other people to support me is the only way I can guarantee I’ll keep it up. Going it alone is ten times harder.
Tell a friend you’re trying to walk more or eat less fatty foods or whatever your goal is and you’ll always have someone there to encourage you when it gets tough, point out when you don’t realise you’re slipping up or maybe even join in with you (if they’re a really good friend).
Get More Sleep
Sleep is good for you and you shouldn’t underestimate just how good it is. By getting more sleep you’ll help boost your immune system and metabolism, improve your memory and learning ability, be able to make better decisions and, generally, just feel happier.
Be Proud of Your Smile
By adding Peppersmith into your daily routine you’ll be reducing the number of harmful bacteria in your mouth and, therefore, preventing acid attacks. This is a great way to prevent dental problems rather than have to fix them later – this is great because if you’re anything like us, going to the dentist isn’t always the most pleasant experience.
When you’ve got a great, healthy smile you’ll feel happier and more confident. Smiling is a great way to bond with people and can even make you feel better, so why not keep your smile healthy and make it something to be proud of?
